Background
This history video served as a special for the members of Westminster Canterbury. It was a way to commence 40 years of being open. The goal was to make it informative, while also highlighting stories of residents and staff members. The video focused on various categories throughout the years including:
- The beginning of the retirement community
- When residents first moved in
- Staff testimonials
- Resident life
- and more...
The Process
Working with the client, my team created a loose concept that would allow the Westminster story to be told. We talked with the client and created a list of names of residents and staff that might be good for the video. The goal was to gather these interviews and go back to the drawing board to complete an official storyboard. It was at this time, that the main team member working on the project left. With him gone, I had to step up and get this project completed for the client.
Looking through all of the video interviews, a colleague and I transcribed each one of them. We wrote down time segments and a summary of what was discussed. We then clipped these time segments out and placed them in an order that made sense. From there, I wrote the script and narration segments that would go in between the interviews.
My Role
For this project I performed the following tasks:
- Assisted in the original video idea
- Watched and transcribed each of the interviews
- Organized the video utilizing the contents of the interviews
- Wrote the parts for the narration
